Removals Van London

Terms & conditions

These terms set out how we work together. They apply to quotes we give and to any man-and-van job or part-load we carry out for you. The written quote and booking confirmation we send you form part of the agreement, and where a specific figure or period matters it is the booking contract that governs it. If you have a question about any of this, email hello@removalsvanlondon.co.uk before you book.

Quotes

A quote is based on the information you give us about the job. If it turns out to be materially different on the day — significantly more to move, changed addresses, or access we weren’t told about — we may need to adjust the price, and we’ll talk to you before we do. Unless we state otherwise in writing, a quote remains valid for thirty days from its date.

Booking and payment

A job is confirmed once you accept the quote and, where we ask for one, pay a booking deposit. The balance is due as set out in your booking confirmation, normally on or before completion. We’ll always tell you the amount and the due date in writing before you commit.

Changes and cancellation

If you need to change or cancel, tell us as early as you can. Where you cancel a confirmed booking within fourteen days of the agreed date, some or all of a deposit may be retained to cover work already done and time reserved; the specifics are set out in your booking contract. If we ever have to change a date for reasons beyond our control, we’ll offer you the earliest suitable alternative.

Our care of your belongings

We handle your goods with care, using proper materials. We ask that you point out anything especially fragile, valuable or awkward before the job so we can plan for it. Items of unusual value should be declared in advance so cover can be arranged appropriately.

Liability and claims

We carry goods-in-transit and public-liability cover, and the terms and limits are set out with your quote. If something is lost or damaged, tell us as soon as you notice and confirm it in writing within seven days of the job so we can look into it properly. Some items — for instance goods you have packed yourself, perishable or hazardous items, and certain valuables — may be treated differently, and any such exclusions will be made clear in your booking contract.

Part-loads and European moves

For part-loads and moves outside the UK, timing depends on the route and how the load is consolidated with others heading the same way. For a move into the EU, we prepare the customs paperwork with you, but you are responsible for the accuracy of the inventory and declarations you sign, and for meeting the entry requirements of the destination country.

Governing law

These terms and any agreement between us are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
